Cave Time!

It has been a very smooth 2 days and the kids all seem to be getting along very well. Diego and myself have enjoyed them also. They are a smart bunch of kids which makes for a chance to really educate on this tropical paradise. Yesterday we dove into the difference between the New World and Old World Tropics, the formation of Costa Rica through tectonic plate activity 3 million years ago, greenhouse gases and why Costa Rica is the perfect country for clean energy, (high mountains, lots of rain, two coast, erupting volcanoes, and 9 degrees from the equator: Wind, hydro, solar, & geothermal) and also some of the different "endemic" species that make this country so popular.

The kids spent some time in the beach and then we headed back to the hotel for dinner. It is a great hotel surrounded by a river on one side and jungle all around. It is on Costa Rica's list for "Sustainable Hotels" giving respect to the environment using different forms of energy and being conscience of low impact on the environment. It is going to be a busy day of hiking and then rappeling down a 150ft waterfall.

The kids really enjoy the comments on the blog. We get everyone together and read them so keep them coming!
